Intacol Agro Food, SA was founded on January 19, 1990 as a result of strategic partnership between several investors, namely the Portuguese companies Macedo & Coelho, SA, and GAP (Agro), SA, the English company Micronizing Company (UK) Ltd and the Spanish company Inteca.
A pioneer in the introduction of the micronizing process in Portugal, Intacol represents the only Portuguese factory that has been using this innovative technology. Starting with the production of rolled micronized soya, later it evolved to the production of rolled micronized grains. Since 1995 the company has been focusing on producing complete feeding products for the horses.
This progress was achieved thanks to the partnership with the associate of our founding company (Micronizing), “Charnwood Milling Company”, a reputable UK equine nutrition company.
In November 2004 Reagro, an important commodity trading company in Portugal, purchased Intacol.
The constant demands of the equine sports, the nobility of the horse and its specificities oblige us to be up to date to the latest nutrition techniques.Driven by this demand Intacol established a partnership with the North American Company KER – “Kentucky Equine Research” in February 2005, which can be considered a world known reference in the equine nutrition.
Intacol developes feed products exclusively for horses, maintaining a strict quality control of product raw materials. They are selected and undergo different processes of heat treatment. The use of these reliable and consistent processes ensures high digestibility of feed in prececal tract, providing available energy and security of products (eliminating anti nutritional factors).
A wide range of Intacol products meet the nutritional needs of mares, foals, stallions and high-performance horses at every life stage.
All the formulation and adjacent services are the result of institutional partnership between KER and Intacol.
